MingKwai Added to the Stanford University Libraries Collection
The “MingKwai Chinese Typewriter,” invented by Lin Yutang in 1947, was unexpectedly discovered earlier this year in a basement in New York, USA, and has now been officially added to the Stanford University Libraries collection. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Felix family for their generous decision to keep the MingKwai within the global academic community, and to Professor Thomas Mullaney for his dedicated efforts throughout the discovery and acquisition process. On the very day the MingKwai resurfaced, the Lin Yutang House established contact with Professor Mullaney and has since been receiving updates on its preservation and research progress. We look forward to further collaboration and warmly invite all to continue following this significant chapter in the history of Chinese input systems.
