Lin Yutang House — Temporary Closure for Renovation
6/1/2024
Beginning 1 June 2024, Lin Yutang House will close to undertake a comprehensive restoration project. Constructed in 1966 as Dr. Lin Yutang’s private residence, the building subsequently became a public library and later evolved into a diversified venue combining exhibitions, cultural lectures, dining, and leisure.
Now approaching its sixtieth year, the House requires extensive upgrades to both its facilities and spaces. To provide visitors with a safer and more welcoming environment, a two-year revitalization and adaptive-reuse project will commence on 1 June 2024, addressing structural reinforcement, spatial improvements, and equipment modernization. The reopening date will be announced separately.
During the renovation period, the House will be closed to the public and all related services will be suspended. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Meanwhile, our team will continue to promote Mr. Lin Yutang’s philosophy of everyday aesthetics and will share updates on the restoration process. Please stay tuned to the Lin Yutang House official website and Facebook page for further information.
